Sorella is a compact table lamp with a protruding and
only apparently unstable shape. The idea came to Adolfo
Guzzini, who was fascinated by the shape of the air vents
on the holiday boat enjoyed with his family. On his return
with a few sketches, he worked with the technical office to
transform his idea into a lighting artefact. Two symmetrical
parts merge in the centre of the body to reproduce the
complex and elegant flared shape of the hood.
Stability
is assured by a weight inside the base which allows the lamp
to hold an oblique position in relation to the surface where
it is placed. Re-issued by the company in 2022, Sorella is
available in two colours: white and black An artefact that
inspires curiosity, questions and surprise. Sister has been
used in set designs for many science fiction films: 2001 A
Space Odyssey, Space 1999 and Star Trek.
