The Westin Perth is the city’s newest five-star hotel built on the former site of The Department of Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters in the Perth CBD. The site is in close proximity to the Elizabeth Quay, the Hay and Murray St malls and Optus Stadium, making it ideal for a relaxing staycation for locals, while also being appealing to business and leisure travelers. The fitout of this stylish 368-room hotel includes a lap pool, a ballroom and conference rooms, a day spa and a restaurant which feature lots of natural light in the most public spaces. This is substituted with discrete artificial lighting at night to retain the ambience and luxury of a five-star hotel. The iGuzzini Laser Blade and Laser Blade InOut were selected for their minimal appearance and almost invisible effect in the lift lobby, the port-cochère and the alfresco seating areas of the Westin. These spaces needed to be illuminated to the level of compliance required by safe movement, especially in the port- cochère, for valet parking and concierge services, whilst still achieving the hotel’s brief in terms of ambience and sophistication. Mondoluce were involved in the design and building procurement process, together with Melchor and BGC.
