On the occasion of NYCxDESIGN (15–21 May) and Italy on Madison (13–15 May), INTERNI presents Casa Italiana X Italy on Madison — the third edition of the cultural showcase that transforms the headquarters of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in the Upper East Side into a living expression of Italian excellence, through a program of events dedicated to Italian lifestyle.
Curated by Paola Navone / OTTO Studio and conceived by Erica di Giovancarlo (ITA New York) with Gilda Bojardi (Interni), the exhibition transforms the historic building at 33 East 67th Street — once the residence of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy — into an evocative Italian home, showcasing over 100 design objects by more than 40 Italian brands.
We are pleased to take part in Casa Italiana with our Nitia (design Rodolfo Bonetto, 1971) and Whisper (design iGuzzini ) — both in red — table lamps that speak the language of light in a direct, essential, and contemporary way.
The installation unfolds through the three colors of the Italian flag, each representing a different area of the home. The project celebrates the icons of Made in Italy, the entrepreneurial spirit of Italian companies, and contemporary craftsmanship, blending tradition and innovation.
Designed by Rodolfo Bonetto in 1971 and now part of the iGuzzini Echoes collection, Nitia is a table lamp with reflected light. Compact and geometric, it combines plastic and steel in a visual balance inspired by the automotive world: the three holes in the optical body recall technical solutions used in car design to prevent overheating.
In this symbolic and story-rich setting, Nitia and Whisper express our vision of light — a synthesis of form, ingenuity, and design culture.
